Control Panel

 Once you log as the super administrator you see the full control panel.
If you logged in with a lesser administration account you my not see as many icons.
The icons in the center of the page.


Add New Article
Opens a editor to add an article to the system.

Article Manager
Opens to the main article manager.

Front Page Manager
Opens the Front Page Manager with basically controls which articles show on your home page.

Section Manager
Joomla Menu system and article system use sections & categories to organize your sites content.
The Section Manager creates these sections where you can add text descriptions to section along with there name and
manage them etc.

Category Manager
The Category Manager is the second level of organizing your site.
Works just like the Section manager but is dependent on the sections
category's are assigned to a section.

Media Manager
The Media manager helps organize images etc for your articles. It adds uploads and deletes media etc.

Menu Manager
The Menu manager comes in two parts the menu container and the menu item manager.
If you click on this image it takes you to the menu container not the menu item manager AKA link manager.

Language Manager
This link will take you to the Language Manager where you can add or delete other languages for Joomla's front and back-end.

User Manager
This link takes you to the Joomla User Manager here you can edit add or delete users to your Joomla site.

Global Configuration
This is Joomla settings center which has three subsections Site, System and Server.
Even doe it states "global configuration" articles have there own global settings etc.

There is another set of links on the right but they are pretty self explanatory.
