Template Parts and Concepts

A Joomla template is like any other template in other words at it's simplest its just an HTML page with
CSS that you add special PHP tags to.

Joomla templates are made up of many parts that come together and render into one.
This is true for both Front End templates and Back End templates. Joomla is made up of mostly five parts

• Content
• Component's
• Module's
• Plug-in's
• Templates

All of these parts come together and are displayed via the template at design time.

By now you may be wondering what is a component a module and a plug-in?
These are the core parts of Joomla which are rendered in the above graphic.

In the next sections I'm to go over each one of these parts so you my get a better understanding of the makeup of the parts that are displayed by a Joomla front-end template.
