More and more organizations in business and government are turning to open source. Large computer companies like IBM, Sun and Apple have embraced open source as a part of their software strategy.
Governments have turned to open source both as a way to share software they create and as a way to lower costs, with the City of Munich switching all 14,000 of its computers to Linux, an open source operating system. And, of course, the large majority of computers used to run the Internet run open source tools, with 65% of web servers currently running the Apache web server.
