Hello Rowby,
I don’t official support web servers but I’m happy to give you a hand.
You can assign a different template to any “menu section / link” and css styles to page content.
Modules can be turned on and off per menu section / links.
Joomla at this time doesn’t support two sites per one install.
There are tricks that one can do but it not easy for the layman
like linking Mysql tables via symbolic links but your MYSQL version has to support it
and you need a Linux box. There other thing could do is SSH to the server linking to the DB on your server then mapping the port so you local Joomla thinks it’s local.
As for the Ravenswood I have never tested it out so can’t give advice on it.
But you should be able to have as many Joomla sites on you local box as you like.
About 2 years ago I made a server called the “Joomla starter kit” then renamed 123webkit”
You can see more about it here 123webkit.com site.
Or more docs at
Free JoomlaStarterKit local Joomla web server and templates.
This Joomla forum
I’m thinking of restarting the project but finding time is not easy plus the support is impossible for one person make a living at the same time. But I sometimes a go into crazy mode and knock out projects with no sleep.
This server does support multiple sites and here is how.
Free JoomlaStarterKit local Joomla web server and templates.
I still use the same setup one of my boxes and it work just great.
Though I see the Ravenswood server gets good reviews and if that person has more time and is supporting the server I would stick with it. I’m sure there is a How 2 some where.
Cheers,
Brian Diaz
