Posts Not stacking Vertical Problem

Okay guys, I'm almost at the end of very long learning curve building joomla templates. I'm currently using both tables and div's and have my layout and site mechanics fine tuned. The final problem I am facing is getting my Posts to 'stack' vertical instead of horizontal. Its strange because on my local sever the posts behave in accordance with table and divs (appearing vertically) but in the final stage uploaded to the internet the posts refuse to behave. It doesn't seem to matter which one I use (just a table or Just a div) I cant force the post to use the vertical space available to it. I had a look at module settings and still no joy Even if I choose Vertical for a newsflash nothing happens. Any answer or help would be very much appreciated as I am so close to finishing. I have also switched between assigning both blog and the default home with no difference.

I'm running the 2.1 Joomla extension on Dreamweaver 8,

Okay, fixed my own problem Its the menu column settings changed to '1' and not '2' :P The stupid part is I've spent the last month and a half building, testing and figuring out how it all works and I honestly have found mucking around with code makes alot more sence then the stupid Joomla Back end - its awfuly designed, hard to navigate and in my opinion, is the worst part of Joomla - which is a pitty seeing as how the rest of Joomla is so powerful for layouts and content.
