Default CSS/XML Parsing Error

I am trying to practice learning Joomla 1.5 and using JTK for Dreamweaver.

I made a duplicate copy of the rhuk_milkyway template since I liked parts of its design.

I keep updating the xml details file using JTK but I keep getting the following error under the Template Manager:

"XML Parsing Error at 4:1. Error 5: Invalid document end"

All the css links in index.php seem to be correct but the css is not formating the HTML when I click on preview.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
Clyde

Hi Modemguy,

I'm not doing support for JTK 3.0 till the videos are out.
because it just slows down video development.
Once finished and watched support will start.

Cheers,
Brian

I can not reproduce the error.

As for your videos question? The set is going to be extensive.

It's paired with another video product which I'm most likely going to include
for free* for Joomla template kit clients so it taking time to make.

Cheers,
Brian

Hello Brian,

I understand it is extensive. But could you give a rough estimate? I've been checking this website for about 3 months and the only 'news' i have read is that it is a huge project to finish the video.

Will it take another 2 months? or 4? or 8?

I'll try to solve the xml parsing error. Would be nice if I can test my template online.
Thank you
Iris

Hi iris,
If you feel that this an error then post it.
With the steps that your doing and your versions
to the Project page.

Media 65 Forums - Project Tools - Issue List

As for your video question I know people / clients like to know dates on projects but I not give them out for many reasons like your a could be competitor etc.

P.S. The JTK 3.0 Beta was post 2-15-08 today is 4-8-08 it's not 3 months.
it also takes a lot of time to finish one done right. People have this notion that this is easy work.

When I have to think for three types of users using 2 OS and 2 versions of DW using this product and there needs.

So please have some patience's the template kit works I have tested this beta on both Mac and PC with Joomla 1.5.X DW CS3 and 8.

truly yours,
Brian Diaz

Hi Brian,

Yes I understand. Just excited for the video.

I solved the xml parsing error though by searching Joomla forums.
I used the '&' sign in <copyright> section of the xml file and so that was giving the error.

For others having this issue: Load the xml file in to the firefox browser and it will tell you what is wrong (at least in my case)

I can now test the template without problems

Thanks, iris
