Default News Read More links not working

I am having a problem that is I am just banging my head out on. This is my first Joomla template and I am just about done. But I have this one problem. When I create a newflash item with intro text (viewable on the homepage), the read more link takes you back to the same homepage. The article never comes up. still only the intro text.

Here is a link to my site: Hope Through Grace | Home

I have a news item called "MyPyramid: Steps to a Healthier You"

If you click the read more link, the full article never opens.

Has any had this problem before? Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Hello masterboxe,

You have done a very nice job on your site.
now I think someone else post something like this before on the forums.
I have to hunt it down. I think you need to mod the front page com to fix it.

What version of Joomla are you running?

Cheers,
Brian

This post has a some type of answer.
Clicking news story doesn't open new template?

Cheers,
Brian

Default Other thread

I have found that same thread about a week ago, it leads to one thread that leads to another really long thread that leads to several threads. I have tried 5 or 6 things, from my research nothing has worked.

I have tried:

SEO plug-ins
I have edited the com_content files a few times
Changed the global configs- Itemid Compatibility Mode to before

None of these things worked.

I did notice that the guy, in the thread you mentioned was able to find a fix because his site looks like it is working pretty good. I just dont know what he did.

Ok check this out! I found this post where a guy was getting 404 errors:

A poster on another board d_spice suggests:

"Try creating a new article, place a read more option within that article and publish it, see if it does it again. I've had to do this myself and it fixes the problem for me."

So I created a new news item and guess what, its working! Go figure. So the new news items are writing the urls differently and read more links work just fine. Just the old ones don't. Which means this problem was resolved by something I did before except I have no clue which was the right solution. Although I am guessing it was the SEO plugin since it writes all the urls.
