Default Picturs Not Showing on Live Site

Hi, I have designed a new joomla template using the 2.1 extension. Everything has worked ok. I followed the tutorial and used win zip to zip the files (I created the zip file from inside the template folder). When I checked the contents of the zip folder all the images were there along with all the files. However when I view the site live the images are not there.
The site is dystardesign.net.au

I made sure that the last thing I did before converting to css and zipping the file was to update the templateDetails.xml file and I also check the template in my local server and everthing was fine.

Logged into live site and uploaded the zip file and installed.
Set new template as default. (I decided to leave out the body module for now. Just wanted to get the template up and running).

I checked the media manager for the image files but they are not there even though they were uploaded in the zip file.

Can you offer any advice? Thank You. Kerry

Hello Kerry

Did you run the images to CMS wizard?

Also the images for a template are stored in your templates name folder inside the images folder of your template name not the image manager.

The other thing could be is the file permissions on the template folder.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Yes I ran the images to css before I zipped the folder and I also ran the update templateDetails wizard. However I just had a look at my files using filezilla and the images folder is there but the images I laid into the template are not showing. I also checked the file permission and they are set to 755.

The css file for the site is pointing to the images folder within the template but the images are not there.

I don't understand, I have all the images in the images folder inside the template on my local server and they are showing when I run jsas but they are not present in my images folder on the live server. In addition the thumbnail of the template is not showing the template but the standard media 65 thumbnail.

Can you advise on what to do. I must have missed a step but I cannot see where. Regards

Kerry

Hi Kerry

I would have to see the code to the template.
You could post here or a open a ticket and attach it.

Also the css should not be pointing to images folder.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Never mind mate, got it fixed. I went back and updated the templateDetails file and then reloaded it into the website and it is now working. Still have some things to modify like the main menu buttons but all is ok for now.

Thank you for your help, no doubt I will be back, cap in hand, at some later date.

Kind Regards

Kerry
