Yes more tutorials are coming I just need to get extension out and will adding more. As for template monster conversion it's in the cue. the second part is out there in left field for DW. This can be done with other software but that's one big job. Thanks for the feedback let sees what we do for you. Cheers, Brian |

The sample templates all use vertical menus. Is it possible for the Template Kit to allow me to create horizontal top menus and have sample templates with a horizontal menu (so I can use the CSS code)?
I manually went into the index.php and style sheet to change these - using a non-Media65 template - so I am not stuck. But it would be nice for it to be more incorported in M65. |

I think all the feature additions/considerations you propose are very worthwhile. I would like to see added ability to modify the standard kit installed CSS file. I find that that about 90% of my time is spent in the CSS anymore and only 10% or so in the markup. In addition (FWIW), I find myself using DW more for site management and ftp than actual design now - I think the current DW8 CSS tools are not up to speed (including their wyswyg) with ones like Style Master and Top Style. I'm not suggesting that M65 support these tools - I would just like more flexibility to modify the initial install of the CSS template.
Thanks Bob |

The menu system is a bit tricky because it's like another product. Most the templates that you see with horizontal menus are added on via a third party module or a PHP include file. Joomla CMS 1.0.x horizontal menus out of the box are only top level menus. See tab menu article http://www.m65.net/articles-joomla!-...b-menu-50.html I know that there is a demand for this but its not at the top of my list because there very good paid and free third party add-ons for menus at the Joomla extension exchange. But what I could do is add some how-to's on using most to the good ones out and after I get the base extensions out the way I'll take a look at some type of add-on for for horizontal menu’s. Thanks you for your input, Brian |

Thanks for you’re input. Yes DW CSS system is not the best in the world I also use top style. The thing with DW that it has a DOM and like a lot of issues with CSS in IE vs. FF It not easy to do in its current Dom state. The UI needs to be extended this could happen in DW 9. That Firefox flash script deal smells like the gecko could become the new DOM for DW. But that’s just me whishing ? I know Adobe does not like the MS web expression so the move FF was made. As you may know you can just add a link to you external CSS editor to make this work a little easier. As for your second request about the base files I’m looking into that but that’s one of the reasons why I need to take that poll. The older the DW version the less I can do with it. If all the client installs where DW 8 I could go to town but its not the case. There is still a good number of MX, MX 2004 out there. I can tell you this I made a special CSS module system for our article system where you will have access snippets live you’ll see more of this in the Joomla Template SE kit 3.X branch from there you could just copy and paste mod's to the base code. Plus I have a few more other things up my sleeve that has to wait a bit. Cheers, Brian |

Hi,
I would love to see additional icons in the "Joomla Template Kit"-toolbar in Dreamweaver. It really would be nice instead of clicking the wizard or module menu to have icons for very often used functions such as "Update the template details XML files" - I think there are some of these funktions such as the "Update the template details XML files" where it is pretty obvious that it would really be worth having just a shortcut icon in the toolbar instead of using the wizard each time. That would be really great! |

I see but the thing is that Joomla has something like 27 modules block / position calls thats a lot of icons plus our added tools, wizards etc. it just gets to long to do an icon style menu as time goes on there will be more. I hear you. But at this time I can't do anything about it. I'll have to think of a fresher way of displaying the menus. thanks for your input. Cheers, Brian |
